Drain smells are worth checking

A persistent drain smell usually means something is wrong: a dried-out or badly fitted trap, a partial blockage, or a leak on the waste pipework. One customer had Tom trace an odour from their household drainage. He ruled out several possible causes, vacuumed out the pipes and fixed an ill-fitting shower trap.

How to avoid blocked drains

Don’t pour fat or grease down the kitchen sink. Use a hair catcher in the shower and bath. Only flush toilet paper, never wipes, even ones labelled flushable. If a drain starts running slowly, get it looked at before it blocks completely.

Water backing up sink when the washing machine is on
Outstanding service, quick, reliable & affordable! I had a blocked sink pipe and I was searching for a plumber who was both reliable and free. Everyone I contacted either couldn't make it on the day or were charging call out fees. I found Thomas on this site and his profile gave me all I needed to know about his services. He gave me a very transparent solution, which would be that he would remove the blockage for a fixed price and if it returns in 30 days, he would return to do it again for free. Thomas arranged to come later that week but he had some free time on the day we contacted him and arrived at the time he said he would. He was very friendly, knew what he was doing and cleared the blockage with a special vacuum apparatus, in a matter of a few minutes - and without making any mess. (There is an after-stench but that clears within an hour with good ventilation and your wife's candles). The water was running fine without pooling in the sink. A day later, there are no leaks and everything is working as if nothing ever happened! We've already recommended Thomas to others. This is someone you want to keep in your contacts indefinitely, because sometimes those blockages need more than drain cleaning gels/foam. Thank you Thomas!

Contacted a week or so ago able to do a quick visual with free advice. Booked to come last night and spent 30 mins diagnostic to locate the source of an odour from household drainage , ruled out several options. Came at lunchtime today , vacuumed out pipes , fixed an ill fitting shower trap and booking to come and replace some taps. Is polite , courteous, professional and gave good advice. Highly recommend.
